Our Staff

The staff at Carol's Corner have over 230 years of combined experience in child care and education. We strive to give quality care and bring a great learning environment to all the children in our care. Our staff consists of full time teachers, as well as substitutes, to ensure that the children receive the same quality of care continuously throughout the year.
Carol - Owner

Ms. Carol has owned Carol's Corner for over 25 years! She has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. She loves spending time with her family, camping, cookouts, and vacations. She has enjoyed her time here at Carol's Corner, looks forward to retirement once her daughter-in-law Tana takes over. She is grateful that the center will be staying within the family, so that she can come visit and substitute anytime!

Wendy - Preschool 2 Lead 

Ms. Wendy has worked here at the daycare for over 23 years. She has a bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. She started her education with Kent Ashtabula and finished with the University of Cincinnati. Ms. Wendy has been married to her high school sweetheart since 2000 and they have two children together. One that works in the toddler classroom at Carol's Corner and is in college, and the other is a senior in high school.

Abby - Toddler 2 Lead

Ms. Abby started working at Carol's Corner in the beginning of summer 2021 after she graduated from Geneva High School. She is currently attending Kent Geauga for a degree in nursing. She lives in Ashtabula with her dad and mom, Ms. Wendy, and her younger brother. She and her brother used to come to Carol's Corner when they were little, so she thinks it's "funny getting to work with her mom, grandma and everyone that I knew when I was little".

Jolyn - Substitute

Ms. Jolyn has been working at the center since 1995 when it was Beginning Steps and has always been the Infant Room teacher. She retired from Carol's Corner in January 2022, but has continued to work for us as a substitute teacher in the infant room when we need her. She has her BS in Math, is married and has two children and two grandchildren. She enjoys reading science fiction and swimming.

Michelle - Toddler 1 Lead

Ms. Michelle has worked in child care for over 20 years! She worked for Carol's Corner full time until the end of 2022, after which she continued to work at the center as a substitute teacher. Fast forward to July 2024, Miss Michelle has come back to the center as our full time Toddler 1 room lead teacher!

Tana - Administration

Ms. Tana is working to be the future owner of Carol's Corner. She has a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, but has always had a love for children from an early age. Her passion early on was to always work in Early Childhood Education, but she pursued her other love of science first. She is Ms. Carol's daughter-in-law and a mother of a Geneva High School graduate. Ms. Tana enjoys watching marching bands, Halloween is her favorite holiday & fall her favorite season. She loves to spend time with her family & friends camping and playing board games. She also enjoys vacationing in South Carolina to look for shark's teeth on their beaches and in the creeks...she has love for sharks but avoids the ocean at all costs. Ms. Tana enjoys painting and crafting with her daughter in their free time. She looks forward to meeting and working with all of Carol's Corner children and parents to give all your children a bright future!

 

Dixie - School Age Lead

Ms. Dixie​ grew up in southern Ohio and graduated from Ohio University. She taught in Zanesville, Delaware, and St. Louis before moving to Geneva. She taught sixth grade at Spencer and retired after 50 years in 2010. She came to Carol's Corner after retirement. She has two grandchildren, Alexis who is a cast member at Disney World and Isaac who works in Columbus. She enjoys spending time at the lake and with family and friends. She is a sports fan - Indians, Ohio State, Browns, etc. "I am extremely blessed every day of my life to work with the children here."
 

Alana - Environmental Service

Alana started working for Carol's Corner in 2017 as the environmental services. She ensures that each room of the center is cleaned and sanitized for your children before they come in each day. She enjoys reading and hiking in her free time.

Michael - Substitute

Mr. Mike is Tana's husband and is the future co-owner of Carol's Corner. He has been helping filling in as a substitute at the center. He enjoys watching all sports and is a Cleveland fan. He spends his weekends traveling to the University of Mount Union to watch his daughter, Kayleigh, play in the marching band. Mr. Mike enjoys spending his off time with family, camping, cooking out or traveling.

Linda - Director

Ms. Linda has lived in Geneva all her life and has been married for over 50 years. She has 3 beautiful daughters and 9 grandchildren. She loves spending time with her family, enjoys reading and being outside especially in the summer. She first worked in childcare at We Care Daycare for 5 years. When it closed, she worked for 5 years at Ready Set Go in Austinburg, where she met Ms. Carol, and another 5 years at Beginning Steps. Ms. Linda has worked for Carol for over 25 years! She enjoys working with children and is a very famous cook here at Carol's Corner!

Anna - Preschool 1 Lead

Ms. Anna lives in Ashtabula but was raised in Geneva. She has worked at Carol's Corner Child Care for over 17 years. She has worked with all the different age groups in the center but is currently the 3-4 year old preschool teacher. Working with children has always been something she loves to do. When she is not working at the daycare, she is usually spending time with family, at home or out at her husband's family property relaxing by the campfire and riding ATV's.​
 

Kayleigh - School Age 1 Lead (Summer)

Ms. Kayleigh is a 2022 graduate of Geneva High school and the beloved daughter of Ms. Tana. In high school she was a proud member of Marching Geneva and continued her love for the band playing in the marching band at the University of Mount Union. She currently attends Kent State University to major in Early Childhood Education. She spends her free time reading, drawing and painting. During high school she volunteered at the Geneva Public Library with their Teen Action Group (TAG) which creates programs for the middle and high school students to participate in after school.
